Did the best I could Ken. Maybe next year.

I like Mitch Abrams books.

We watch Downton Abby too (why did they kill Mathew?). NPR rules," Hell". I like the History on the Pawn Stars. Hated History in school but now I watch History Channel as much or more than any channel. I like Portlandia too on IFC. And I like the English and American "Top Gear."

Gary, Alan Watts told me he'd come back and visit me after he died but never has. Most of my other out of body experiences were in the Hospital.

Happy birthday Tamera and all other Aprils.

Dave, I think leading the Masters on the first day, even if only for a few holes, is a pretty cool accomplishment for a guy playing with a fake shoulder joint. Good work!  I especially like that you are kind to squirrels, too. And getting your history lessons  by watching Pawn Stars is okay as long as they're not taught by Chumlee.

There was a good episode with Chumblee getting Bob Dylans autograph. I did learn that if you want something to be worth more, don't have them personalize the autograph to you, unless you are going to keep it.

Gary, I'm glad I didn't just dream that post, there are some strange things happen. We sometimes think my shop is haunted by my brother and my old dog. I'd like to hear your story.

Gary i don't think it is wierd that you saw your father-n-law at all. It just shows you that the other side isn't that far away. i have had a lot of experiences. You just have to be in tune with your spiritual side. When i go do my friends hair after they have died you can feel them so strong, some more than others. I'll tell you some stories at the next lunch. If any of you think I'm nuts by this lets here about it!!! I have had one lady who's spirit was out of here the second she died. Most hang out to comfort me and help me make them look good!!!

Alan was a special guy in a special way, he pulled some good tricks himself but maybe not a Houdini. We could give the next block of thoughts to "times with Alan (after Keiths and others storys).  Thanks for sharing that story Gary. No joke.

I agree Shauna, I believe a lot of spiritual experiences share time with another dimension. Some scary some special.  I felt my father standing next to me on a hill in Brazil as strong as when he was alive. There has to be places, times, emotions, experiences that make those connections open up.

Thanks for keeping the website open Kate and Larry.

Gary,

I hate to tell you but those blacks things are floaters in the eye, over 50 symdrom, I have them.....

Hey, kidding here.......

I've had quite a few experiences, I know there is a spirit world out there so I totally know what your saying. It doesn't mean you don't believe in god or you are not religious or spiritual, it's all connected, but it's out there.

maybe I'll share one of these days, I'm under the weather right now, coughing under the clouds...............

Don't you hate to get sick in the Spring when you want to start living again? Get well Linda.

Hey Ken Strong, where and when are we having yours and the other April Birthday luncheon? Your pick.

Dave,   I am no good at picking places.  I usually eat at somewhere simple as a fancy place has a menu that I have no idea what the food is.  Anywhere and anytime is good with me except this week.  I will let others pick and I will do my best to be there.

HOLY CATS, Keith! I remember eating at the Four Winds on many occasions back in the 70's. It's where I got my initial love of Chinese food - not the best I ever had, but good enough to keep me coming back for more. And I remember the old Chinese Gentleman who ran the place back then. I didn' t know about the murder/suicide, but I can imagine that old boy haunting the place afterward. Pretty freaky.

I can't say I ever had any paranormal experiences, myself, but my son has a pretty convincing story about a UFO he saw  flying over downtown Provo one night about 10 years ago. I've heard too many accounts from reliable people to doubt the existence of both extra-terrestrials and spirits of the departed who make occasional contact with the living. Interesting stuff.

I'm with you Keith. Going back for the food or anything else would not be worth it.

I think the business in there now is called The Weapon Bender. I wonder if they hear things.

 Thanks for sharing that.

OK all you 69er's I did something exciting yesterday. At age 62 this probably was something stupid to do for someone who hasn't exercised for who knows how long. some of my kids and grandkids and Kathy Kendal decided we would go find Kolob rocks. Well Kathy had showed them to me so I decided I had to have some. Well we started behind kenny and Patti's and walked straight up round peak to third springs. When i say straight up is not even close at this age. I always thought Maple was hard. All I can say is that I made it and I found cool rocks. Today I feel it every where!!! How many of you guys used to go there when you were young? How many of you have done that since we are older???? Alive but not kicking, going to wash my rocks, Shauna

Thank you Dennis Sorensen for the fun golf yesterday, hope those pink balls keep working for you. Glad you made it Eric, it wouldn't have been any fun without you. Your Micky Mouse golf hat kept us focused between the ears. Daryl, you are simple the best.

Thanks for posting Shauna, hope you got your rocks clean. Get Jill, Jan and those other girls to post on this web site as well as facebook. We need Jill to cook us some of those recepits she post all the time.

Ken, I'm sure you can pick a place to eat.

Denny (that's how I keep you apart from the warden) R. keep sharing your photos and road experiences everywhere.

Eric has found so many old classmates we need to get with them again.

Sorry about your mom Steve Nance, she raised some good children.

Thanks, Dave, Dennis and Eric! The only reason I keep playing golf is because I enjoy the chance to hang out with great guys like you! Eric took a picture of three of us enjoying the Corrections Department Golf Scramble at Palisades. Sorry we didn't get one of all four of us together. It was a great day!

I know that this is not much of a notice but the fishing day for Special kids is tomorrow morning Tuesday at Salem Pond.  For those of you that have been attending you are always welcome and for those that would like to attend, you are welcome.

Sorry I missed your fish thing this year Ken. It is a real good cause. I think every store I go into last month and this month, ask for a $1.00 for March of Dimes, Vets, hairless dogs etc., which is cool, except it's every store and fast food. Adds up after a while. I'd like to donate to the fish though, even more than a dollar. I was at the Dr. getting shots for my IT Band. Thought it was my hip but it wasn't, so that's good. You all want to donate a dollar?

Gary, happy birthday next week. Plan something and we'll get everybody together. Ken didn't do it last month, he had fish.

Shauna and Dave,  You were there two years ago and met Quickdraw.  What a delightful person.  I did not see him last year but this year he was there just sitting back waited for all the others to catch their fish and then it was his turn.  In the mean time I was able to get a nice big fish on a pole.  Leaving the fish in the water, I ran and got Quickdraw to come catch the fish.  Although Quickdraw has always been quick to draw and shoot you, now he is proud of his muscles and says he is working out now.   I have grown to love this man over the last 7 years as he has attended this special fishing day.   What a great opportunity for these people.  The following pictures are of Quickdraw and his fish he caught.  He said it took real muscles to reel it in.

Rhonda and I did the Law Enforcement Torch Run , for the Special Olympics, May 3.  We enjoy doing this for these really neat people.  They have such a heart and are so eager to help.  We rode about 35 miles for our part of the journey between Darby and Missoula.  Some of the kids in wheel chairs sit in the back of this flatbed trailor while it is being pulled through Hamilton, while some of the others ride their bicycles.  Kind of like a parade through town, about 1 mile.  We started riding our bikes in Darby, heading for Hamilton, at 7:00am.  Kind of cold - 33 degrees.  The above picture was taken in Hamilton, just before the parade started.

Hi Ken, I wish I could some day be there  in Salem when all of you are fishing.   It is easy to be friends with these great people.   It is a lot of fun being with them.  I remember teaching in a class when a young man with Down's Syndrome walked up to me while I was  in the middle of my presentation.  He gently took the chaulk from my hand, walked up to the chaulk board and wrote "10-4".  He then handed me the chaulk, pointed at the chaulk board and said, "10-4".  He then sat down.  I smiled.

Hey Shauna,  congrats on your hike.   What is a Kolob rock?  Sounds fascinating.   Last fall I hiked to the top of Maple Mountain.  I had forgotten how steep of a trail it was.  Boy did the leg muscles hurt for the next few days.

Hi Chuck, kolob rocks are square rocks that look like dice! In fact the other name for them is Devil's dice. Look them up on the internet! That looks great what you guys did for the kids. They are a joy to be around.  The girls won out softball game. Next game in state is in SLC. Go Devils!!!!

Shauna, one of my first deer hunts was up past round peak and toward the springs.  Only saw a  porcupine an a cougar.

One of my first dates was a hike up round peak for a pic nic.  Never saw the rocks but good memories.

I'm still listening.....

I got my Idaho concealed weapons permit yesterday for those who care to know that.... after all I am in Idaho, I don't have a gun or have taken a real gun safety class, that is next. I'm doing it backwards. Then we'll get me a gun I like, mostly for when we go camping and hiking, I'll have my own....Never thought I would do this.

I did take the class for Utah (they recognize 37 other states), so now I will send in that one.

Quit a contrast from peace loving hippie to gun toten old lady....My husband has a collection and is into them, so he helps. I still won't go hunting, because I don't want to kill anything, maybe a can or two.

peace.......
