Hi Gary, isn't it funny how people do something so simple as buy you a coke, but it means so much. Cindy Oakley's Mom was so good to me, she always gave me a ride home. That was a big deal when you lived in Mapleton. That walk used to get awfully long. She also bought me 10 cent french fries and a nickle coke from the P.K. That is just one act of kindness that I recieved in high school. It would be fun if people would chime in and tell something nice that happened to them. Maybe that way everyone can write something on the forum!!  Denny's Mom had the ability to make everyone seem like they were the very best at whatever they were doing!!!

Well said Gary and Shauna.  I ran across this quote that really hit home with me.  You may have heard it, but it sure is nice to read it now and then.  Here it is:

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain".

Now, how about that!  There is a profound message in this quote.  Have you ever known people that are really having a rough time, health wise, family, work, or whatever else is kicking them down the road, and they seem to be the happiest people you ever knew?  They have learned to "dance in the rain".

You know it Chuck! As long as it is a warm rain at our age. I danced with my grandkids this summer. Loved it!!!

Lots of good stuff being said. Thanks, Marvin, Gary, Chuck and Shauna! I'm planning on Kate's this coming Saturday. I don't know if Alauna will be coming along. If she doesn't maybe I'll be talking to you, Shauna, about hitching a ride.

The rain has been pretty scarce around here this Summer, but I'll bust a move next time the drops start falling!

Hi All -

Had a couple of hic-cups, but everything has worked out and the Party is still on and I can't wait to see everyone!!  I would like to get a head count if at all possible (or at least close to it) and let's plan to start at 5:30 - 6PM on Saturday.  Don't worry about bringing anything, I've got it covered, I may not cook, but there will be plenty of good food.  I'm still trying to decide.....just bring whatever you want to drink, (I'll have water and soda), lots of fun stories to make us laugh and all the class friends you can cram into your vehicle.

Send me an email (not through this site) to kateschoening@gmail.com or katesattitude@gmail.com

For some reason my filter is sending emails from this site to my junk mail.  I'm looking into why, but for now send me one directly and let me know if you are coming- or just give me a phone call - 801-558-4958

Directions are below - there is road construction on 13400 South, so I apologize in advance.

1-15 to Bangerter exit - exit going West.

Follow Bangerter to 13400 South -

Follow 13400 South to 5600 West (Smiths on the Corner) - turn left on 5600 W.

Follow to Sun Bloom (pass two churchs) turn right

Make another immediate right on to Morning Light

Follow to Helena Rose Drive - turn left - my address is 14438 Helena Rose Drive, Herriman UT

Tell everyone!!

Sorry everybody but I have a standing night with my son for LDS General Priesthood session of Conference. I'm sure that you will all have fun. It would be nice to see Ray.  Dennis R., my  sister (Maryann) and her husband Stan Jenkins saw you in Nephi last week on Harleys.  They didn't realize it was you until they drove off.

Wow, I think it's leaning more each year. Great stuff Shauna, especially in Rome and Barcelona. I may have Euro lag for a week or so now.

Nice Jeep (sorry you had to give it up) Dennis.

Nice elk Ken, bet he was majestic when he was alive. You should see the movie THE GREY, then you'd really hate Wolves. Oh, I like your fish too.

I guess my sons reminded me we have had that tradition for 26 years too, I could go for lunch but I'd have to not golf Sat. Hope you all have fun.

Hi everyone, if you were planning on the party at Kate's things have changed. She has thrown something out and she can't move. We pray that she will be ok. So the party has moved to my house. We will throw something together. So whoever was coming spread the word that it is at my house.  1134 E. Maple St. GET BETTER KATE    SO SORRY!

We had a great time at Shauna's. it was great to see Cindy Oakley, Judy Daybell and Ray Chadwick along with the regulars. By the way I always use their maiden names. Lots of laughs. I'm so sorry about our friend Kate Robertson and her sore hip and I hope for a speedy recovery.

Well - I'm recuperating....still not moving great, but on the mend.  I'm sick that I had to cancel the last minute and I feel so ridiculous that just by moving wrong, I tear a muscle in my hip/leg......getting old sucks!!  I put it off till the last minute and did everything I could to stay out of the ER, trying to convince myself that if I just rested for a minute I would be able to stand up and get moving.  It was not to be - oh yeah, the ER sucks too!  But, the pain shot really helped, because I was in misery.

I'm so glad that you all got together anyway - I just wish that I could have gotten all this food over to Shauna - I will be feeding the neighbors for weeks!

It's couch bound and ice for me for a few days, but I'll recover.  Thanks to everyone for being understanding and thanks to Shauna for jumping in.  We'll do it again and earlier next year!

Kate,   good to hear that you will be on the mend.   We thought of you at Shauna's and was hoping that all was going to be ok.   Most important is that you get mended up so you can go about your business.   I think that we as a class can have a great time with our without food.  We did good for a last minute situation at Shauna's and you can bet that we will be looking forward to getting together again and hoping that you will be ready for the fun.  Take care and mend up.   Thanks for trying.  Thanks for what you do for the class with this web sight.  It has done wonders.

I'm happy to hear you are doing better, Kate. Shauna did a great job of subbing in as hostess, but we certainly missed having you there. Coming to your house the past few years has been a real treat and I look forward to doing it again sometime next summer!

I think as we get older Kate, it gets worse. You have a good attitude. My father in law (96 and never in a hospital) fell down last month and broke his hip, yesterday in the rehab center fell again and broke his other hip,  glad you are feeling better.

Those guys in Spain know how to build a church, I may move back and dedicate myself like Michalanglo for the rest of my life (4 years) doing glass at Gaudi's Basilica of the Sagrada Familia.  I guess I'll just golf.

I had a grandpa granddaughter date today.  My four year old granddaughter thought she needed to go on a date with grandpa and go to Cabela's and feed the fish.   While there we ran into Mike Nelson.  He works there in the gun department.   We had a short but good visit.   He is a bit taller than high school.   It was so good to see a former classmate.   If you end up going to Cabela's stop in and see Mike.  I have been by several times and this was the first time I have ran into him.

Ok it is time for a trivia...In 1963 when President Kennedy was shot where were you?

I was rolling quarters down the main hall in Springville Junior high when the announcement came over the school intercom.  I am pretty sure Craig Devenish was with me but I don't remember who else but I do remember 3 or 4 of us participating.

Dave the picture you posted was great.  How much of the glass did you do?

I rember, it was announced .  Remember they sent us home, the day was over for Jr. high.

I also remember very clearly that day.  I was in a Civic's class.  The class was being held in a classroom on the second level of the building.  I was sitting in the 5th seat from the front of the 2nd row.  The principal announced it over the intercom.  Also, my sister was born that same day that it happened.  It's funny what things we remember in detail, and then there are other things that we draw a blank on.
