Marvin Dansie

Gary-

I admit that I look at the website many more times than I actual post something.

I think that we are all a bit curious about what is going on with all those people that we graduated from high school with, after all, it was a shared experience in all our lives. The launching pad into adulthood (whether we wanted be adults or not).

After high school everything changed, just like it does for every graduating class. There are quite a number of our fellow class mates that seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth - never to be heard of again. We have all traveled different paths to where we are today. We have all changed, some have changed a little, others have changed a lot. We all have a different view of the world, different beliefs, different values and different experiences. So looking at the Message Fourm on the website is kind of like looking for the new chapters in everyones book of life - like reading a bunch of stories all at once that all have a personal connection to us.

It is one of the great opportunities that our technology provides. And I think you will agree that we both wish more of our class mate would share a little of their story.

Well said Marvin, and I am right with you on the grand kid thing. I read the forum every couple of days because I love hearing from all of you.

Kate I can't wait for your party, it's always so much fun and I think pizza is a great idea!

All partys are fun, can I have you hem some pants for me while you are here Marvin.

You were really up early Gary for that post. I usually look when I get to work and if there is something like where we are meeting for lunch, I check in again in the afternoon. I do check it more often than my facebook, there are too many things there that I don't care about.  It is fun to hear our people, no matter how short.

David, early ya,  I don't sleep much, never have.  sometimes I get pissed about something, ,,and I bring it here.  Some people might agree.....sorry you guys. I'm really tired.  I so don't want  to offend anyone.  I'v been at the hospital for quite a while with my oldest adult child.  It is not looking good..

Gary-

We cry when we hurt.

We cry when we care.

We pray in the hope that God will hear and help in our hour of need.

You say that the gals have my back, well I hope we all have each other's back. If my hopes and prayers can help you through this difficult time - you have them. If there is anything else I can do to help, just let me know.

Life is very interesting,  I refinished Eric and Joan Orton 's front door last week. Eric's health is not real good but it was nice to visit with him. Marvin I am excited you are going to Fort birdger.  My wife and I went for one day back in 2003.  I have a friend that goes every year.  His name is Kelly Ewell  he has a teepee and drives a white truck with Magleby Construction sign on the door.  Kathy Bennett that was our age has a sister named Charlene Butler that goes there every year with a big family camp site.  I have talked with my wife about maybe going there for just one day this year.  We will see.  Hope you get better Tamara.  My wives brother Sherl Miner had knee surgery this summer.  He is back to school now. Hang in there Gary.  I read all the time but am not confident in responding.

I am guilty; I look almost every morning in hopes someone has something to say on this web site.

My senior year, I had Mrs. Kaufman for English the first half of the year; she and I did not get along at all.  So when I pointed out I was not going to college they allowed me to drop the class.  Boy,was I relieved I could graduate!  Instead of English they put me in a typing course. Wow, how great was that?  However, guess who the teacher was?  Your right...Mrs. Kaufman herself.

So Erick, how many "wives" do you have?

Gary, I don't pray much, but I hope and pray all works out for you.

Hi Gary, I'm sure you have all our prayers.Just remember that god is always on your side. I ran into Ron Daniels last night. I told him about dinner at 6, hope he can come and everyone else that reads this or call your friends and let them know. See you later!!

I'll add my prayers to the others for you and your daughter, Gary.

I look forward to seeing whoever can make it to the T-Bone at 6.

It makes no difference if you believe in an all knowing God or in Karma or that this whole thing is a luck of the draw I am convinced that good thoughts have weight in this web of life that we are all part of. Gary my friend my thoughts go out to you and your daughter and I hope that it all has a good out come. Now for the question of looking at the web site I check in about every other day. I also agree with Marvin that we as class members of 1969 should have each others backs. We are the lucky ones to have come of age in the greatest time of enlightenment. When freedom of the individual was at the forefront of the national consciousness. My massage for today is do not put off the things you want to do. Tell your loved ones and your friends how much you care. Take the vacation even if cramps you budget. Ok I'm off the soap box. Kate, pizza is the best idea I've heard and I'm in. Love and peace to you all, Big D.

So, we had the little get-together in honor of Marvin and his famous pants tonight at the T-bone. Denny posted the photo of the whole group, but Shauna captured the shot of the night when she took this picture of Marvin, who drove all the way from the Pacific Northwest to eat FISH & CHIPS at the T-Bone!!!

To heck with the fish in  chip picture.  The one with his pants, it looks like he has  a side ponytail.  At least it does to me. Just the wreath in the backgroud! Great to see all that came out.

Dinner at the T-Bone was great - hated to see it come to an end. I really enjoyed seeing those of you that were there. I just wish I had more opportunity to see and talk to all of you. I really miss the sense of community that you all share in your dinner parties.

I was really really glad my fancy pants didn't fall apart during dinner ;-)

I was so excited after the dinner, I went home, saw a 1/2 donut in the garbage and fell in after it.After the dinner I spotted some fish and chips in the dumpster outside and fell in going after them.

Hope you daughter is doing better Gary.

08/27/12 02:03 PM #1879

Debbie Lawrence (Clark)

Yikes, David, that looks bad.  I hope you found the fish and chips you were looking for.  I'll bet they were yummy.

I look at the site every time Linda is gone.  That is the only time I can use her computer.  I know I should join the real world and bring it up to speed, but I just can't see the point of paying a monthly fee for internet.  I guess I would just rather talk on the phone.  Yes, it is a land line, I have no cell.  What a dinosaur I am.

Gary,  for what it's worth, I believe in God and I pray all the time, mostly for my cat as she is all I have to pray for these days, and I can tell you my prayers are answered in the positive.  Again, for what it's worth.

One day I'll tell you all about my skunk story.  Larry has heard it, but I'll tell it again, when the mood lightens.

All the best Gary.

I wanted to be to the dinner the other night but I am limited to what I can do.   My granddaughter that is 10 years old was singing a song that night and I decided to go to that.    It was well worth it.   I think that she sings pretty good for 10 years old.

Ken-

That was pretty awesome. It must be nice to be so talented (especially at 10 years old).

Very nice, Ken! You can be very proud and what a great choice of material! I think Etta James would approve.

Okay, Dave, let's have the truth. Were you standing a little too close to somebody's backswing? Did you finally push Sharon over the edge? I know the dumpster story is just a cover. Inquiring minds want to know.

Very Nice Ken! One of my all time favorite songs. Dave lets hear the truth about the gash over your eye and don't say it was because I was flurting with Sharon ;-)

Marvin your supposed to be eating venison aren't you.

What?  Fish?  In Utah?  must be trout.  This looks like too much fun.  I guess I check the msg board every couple of months, read back in the msg history, and leave a comment.  I can't seem to check in without leaving a comment.  Sorry to hear about your daughter Gary.  I pray she gets well.

See this way I'm always behind.  just caught the last few days right after I posted.  Glad to see things are shaping up.

Ken,  She's a Diva!  Take it from me, I know from Divas.

Kate Robertson (Schoening)

Ok, so I'm scrolling through all the posts looking at pictures and I see - Marvin's leather pants posing, bloody gash over David's eye, a 10-year old singer that is amazing and a group picture that I'm not in......I have missed you all!!!  I went back and read every post, just to get caught up on what the "heck" is going on!.

Gary, I'm glad you're daughter is getting better, there is nothing more intense than a sick or injured child no matter how old they are.  I'm like David, don't pray much, but when it comes to our children - my prayers are abundant.

Tam - you are a Rockstar!  I've been gone, but I can't wait to see how those new knees are doing.

I missed the lunch and I even missed knowing you were all getting together until today - my loss.  It looks like fun was had by all.  I was in New York on that day working a meeting - I would have rather been with my friends.  The meeting in New York was interesting though.  We held it at Martha Stewarts Headquarters in downtown Manhattan and half way through the day, Martha made a surprise visit....we didn't know she was coming.  She's tall and seemed awkward when talking one on one....but put a microphone in her hand and she turned into a completely different person.  We toured her test kitchens and the magazine production - that part of the meeting was fun......the rest was a whole lot of work!

My grandson started school yesterday and he made a comment about how far he has to walk to catch the bus and how his brother and sister get a ride to school everyday and all I could say was wah wah!!.  Does everyone remember walking to school Jr. High and HIgh School and how far it was (seemed).  I remember meeting Rosemary and walking to Jr. High every freaking day even when it was snowing - we never got a ride!   Having said that, it was still a fond memory, but it sure seemed like it took a long time to get there and to get home.  And, I remember being so hungry when I got home...weird memories.  Let's hear some "walking to school" stories.....I'm sure there are plenty out there!

It's great to have a little down time!  Party planning comin' soon......!
