Mart E. (Gardner)

I'm sorry, I missed the Happy Birthday from many of you when I reach 64 back in May. But thanks, for your thoughts, they were not in vane. And let me now add HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you all, both past and upcoming. This summer has been full of activities with Fishing, ATV riding and more. Therefore, I have not kept up on this site. I can't say it's going to get any better, but I will check in from time to time.

What's new in my life? Glenna and I got to go to the Manti Temple last week when our son was sealed to his wife. This makes 4 out of five now, what a great day for us.

Up coming events, we are going ATV riding up Spanish Fork Canyon on the 18. We ride with a ATV/OHV club and it's real fun.

I love reading about you all, and what's happing. Thanks for your words, it can be a real uplift at times.

Bye for now, but I will return.

Glenna ready to go, and I'm layed back just enjoying the day.

Yes, Dennis, is that a neighbor's house going up in flames! It looks pretty spooky.

It was the old boys home in Birdseye.  My son is a Utah county deputy and he got called out to the fire.  He is the one who took the picture.

Dennis, remember when we used to hide under our desks for atomic bomb practice? Kathrine the Greats Palace, Russia. I thought the only way I'd ever go there was in an Army uniform when I was a kid. "Back from the U.S.S.R., you don't know how lucky we are."

Ready for that picnic Kate?

Okay, let's hear from anyone interested in a round of golf. When have you got time and where can we meet up to play?

Secondly, what about another get-together? Kate, are you still up for hosting?

Roger Judd

Daryl, Golf you said Golf, I can play almost anytime, most anywhere. I have some vacation comming up where I will be out of town, so if that is no conflict I'm in.

Yes!  I'm up for hosting another get together anytime - my Summer is open!  Let me throw out a couple of dates and everyone respond which date will work best for them and we'll get this thing planned!  I'm thinking a Friday night, but if a week night works better, just let me know-

Friday, July 31

Friday, August 14

Friday, August 21

Fridaiy, August 28

Let's rally the troops and get as many friends as possible to come!!

Golf sounds really good to me

Let us know what you work out, but if possible, I would love to join in the golf outing.

Kate, speaking for myself, the rest of July is pretty booked up for me. August 14th sounds like good timing.

For the golfers: What works better early mornings or late afternoon? Should we try and play 18 or is 9 enough?

I to, would like to meet again. I have not seen the group for sometime. What about this time a Saturday night. It's hard for me to make anything on Friday or Saturday until late.

August sounds good to me Kate.

Shauna Bona (Leetham)

I won't be in town on the 14th! My grand daughter is getting married, any other time I can make it! Kate just say when and we will all work it out! If you have it on the 14th I'll live but I will pout a little!!!

David Lynn

It wouldn't be a party without you Shauna. How does everyone feel about the 21st of August?

07/20/15 12:25 PM #3071

Daryl Tucker

Wednesday for golf is best for me. I'm up for the August 21st BBQ.

I went ahead and scheduled tee times at 8:08 and 8:16 am at Hobble Creek. Who's coming?

07/20/15 02:21 PM #3072

Kate Robertson (Schoening)

August 21 is perfect and let's plan on that date!  It will be fun to see everyone -

I hope everyone is having a great summer -

Rebecca Fechser (Everett)

HEY hope everyone is having a great Summer. The golf get-together sounds so fun, but I'll be out of town. Not a golfer anyway, so I'd hold yall back... I can slurp up BBQ with the best of them though.

Could I ask a favor? Would yall mind voting for my portrait on the Dick Blick Art Materials contest website? Trying to win a great new set of oils. Maybe it would kick my butt and inspire me produce again!

Here is the link: http://bit.ly/1fDM3UU

This is actually the first portrait I ever painted, at age 16... Thought it would be fun to resurrect it and enter it. It is my dad, John Fechser and his hen, "Henrietta", standing against a big outbuilding that was built of railroad ties, on the farm I grew up on at 10th S & 10th E.  It portrays how massive his forearms seemed to me when I was little.  Did anyone else have an outbuilding built of railroad ties?  Solid as a rock!  No sign of it now, I don't think. Our two orchards and pastures are gone, and our pretty little spring is built over.  Now it is all houses. It was a wonderful place to grow up.

Thanks everyone. Have a great get together!

Rebecca

Daryl Happy Birthday glad you finally made it to the 64 club.  I can't do golf on either of the days Dave mentioned I have family coming on my birthday and I will be gone all day on your birthday sorry.  Hope you have a great one anyway.  DS

07/20/15 08:09 PM #3075

David Lynn

I'll be there Daryl, that's your birthday party. Will there be cake?

I couldn't find it Rebecca the first two times but then I entered the word Henrietta and it made it much easier. Way better than most the others, you'd better keep it up (or start it up again).

UTawna Johnson (Witney)

Rebecca, that is an awesome portrait of your dad!

Rebecca - that is a great picture!  You are very talented!  I voted-

Everyone mark your calendars - it's official - BBQ at Kate's house on August 21.  Spread the word, let's see how many of us 69er's we can entice to join the fun!

Have fun golfing everyone!   And, happy birthday to all those I've missed.  I think it's funny that everyone is turning 64 - ha!  I'm closer to 65 - me and Jan!  How did we ever get this old!!
