Good, keep those addresses coming. Thanks Marvin.

Look how hard Richard H. is working. We'll continue Mon. 4/28/ 4:00 p.m. on the other side. Anyone is welcome. We may do some upholstering as well. We can do some internal decorating.

Linda, you can send those posters here to the bus so we can space other decorations around them. You know there is room for them and you in or on the bus. Stay strong. Send to 1804 S. Columbia Lane Orem, Utah 84097. Anybody else is welcome to send ideas as well. Bike racks, turrets, water guns, etc.

Thanks Marvin.  That is a big help.  Will follow up.  Joe Haws and Robert Stokes we have other leads on also.  Marcel Whiting was one I had tracked to Texas as well as Carl Haymond.  Will make some phone calls to them and see what I can find.  Thanks again for the GREAT help.  We need all that we can get.

Thanks, Marvin, for being one of our long-distance committee members! It's really cool that we can all be engaged in this reunion wherever we might actually live these days.

If you haven't received you invitation, please advise us of your address. Everybody else, get your RSVP in so we can make our reservations and know how much pizza to bring Fri. night. Thanks. No one wants to be thrown under the bus, so get in the Bus (float).  Daryl will post the invite on this site soon. You can even commit to come on this site if you can't find your return envelope.

This message goes out to everyone who reads this forum!

We're having a final planning meeting for our 45-year reunion on Monday at 6 pm at Dave Lynn's shop (1804 S. Columbia Lane, Orem). We'll be checking out the bus and deciding about paint and other decoration issues (Thanks, Linda, for sending your magnificent artwork!!!) and then we'll maybe go grab something to eat at someplace close by. It will be a great time, so be there!

Our bus will be even better than the Wavy Gravy original!

I was with my sister today and she told me how last year she was getting ready for her 50th reunion and coming up from Vegas. Her husband had a stroke 5 days before and she never got to use her new dress. I've used up about 15 of my 9 lives, not to go into detail, but I just feel that every day is a bonus day and every time I run into one of you, it's a perk. I hope I didn't ever do anything to make any of you mad at me, if I did it wasn't intended. I was always swimming and didn't get to know a lot of you until after High School, but feel a lot of you (all of you) to be good friends now. I've had great experiences since then and hope all of you will give it a chance also. Who knows if we will get another chance. Thanks to all of you. Come tomorrow night as early as you want, even though we offically start at 6:00. The things we have in common far exceed our differences. Bring your ideas and "Break on through the other side". All are welcome.

Leanne Williams (Newman)

I was recently in Delaware visiting my sister.  While attending church, she introduced me to Vicki Vincent's brother who lives there.  He said Vicki was in Rock Springs, and had just retired from school teaching.

Thanks Leanne,   I called and talked to her this morning.   Thanks that was a big help.

Oh that is such a relief.  I am so glad to hear this.  What I said before was from an elaborate game of "Telephone" my mom and I would have.  She didn't want me to forget Springville and so she'd pass the news to me.  Anyway, please foreget what I said.  I really believed it all these years.  Forget, forget, forget.  Ha, those rumors are greatly exagerated.

Dave -

I'm really looking forward to the reunion and the bus painting activity, but I just had one question. Did you mean to wear clothing that I don't mind getting paint on, or to wear clothing that you just paint on?

05/26/14 04:17 PM #2624

David Lynn

Marvin, don't count on going home clean.

You might bring jogging clothes to pass out the candy, we have to hand it out now so someone doesn't get run over. Those girls that did the 5 K a few years ago may have to get tuned up too.

Not to promote, condone or judge, there is a bar at Riverside CC. You have to pay for your own with cash or maybe you could charge me. I'll post more as I know for sure.

Dave -

I would definitely be up for passing out candy to the kids (young and old) - I'm sure I could use the exercise.

By the way, what time should I show up to start painting?

05/30/14 06:29 PM #2627

David Lynn

Richard Hjorth, myself and anyone who'd like at 5:00, officially at 6:00.

Also so you all know it's a Prime Rib Buffet, also chicken, fish and salads.

We have 1000.00 Devil water bottles and 50 lbs of red and blue (cotton candy flavor) taffey to pass out.

Linda Schardine

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that my husband is in the care of Hospice at home and doesn't have much time left. I will not be attending the reunion. I trueley wanted to be there. I hope you enjoy my art work I sent to David and take a lot of pictures and send them to me please, I would love that!!         potter@usamedia..

I will truely be thinking of all of you but obviously I can't come.

Debbie is not coming either....Hopefully next time...that's life

Love to you all!

Linda

David Lynn

Maybe we should just keep driving after the parade and come up to see you. Good Vibes and prayers to you Linda, we'll miss you and Debbie there but your art work will be a big part of the reunion.

10 DAYS LEFT UNTIL WE DECORATE THE BUS. Bring your ideas, we'll also attach your memorabilia to it if you bring it. There are other things to do on it if you are afraid to paint but we can do a paint by number on parts of it for you good sports.

Good idea Shauna.

First of all, Linda, we all love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you and Lars at this very difficult time. May angels surround you both.

Who says reunions have to be held on any particular schedule? When the time is right, we'll get you and Debbie down here for a huge, blowout 69er party and everyone will be invited!

As for all of you who can be here for this particular reunion, the bus is turning into something special. We worked on the sound system, yesterday and some rockin' tunes to play along the route. When the bus is all painted and decked out, it will be the hit of the parade I'm sure.

Linda, I am so sorry that your husband has gotten to the point that he needs to be with the people at Hospice.  I have had a few family members that went through that stage and I have to say the people at Hospice were extremely helpful and supportive.  My heart goes out to you and your family.  I would have liked getting to see you and your husband at the Reunion.  I read on here but I don't write very often.

I agree with Daryl and think his words are perfect.  We don't have to wait for a calendar to tell us when we can get together as a group of Class of '69 and celebrate!

I can't wait to see your artwork.  I am certain that it will be amazing.  You have a great talent and we are lucky that we get to see some of it.

May you be comforted in knowing that you will be missed at the Reunion but you will be with us all in our hearts.  Hopefully we can come up with a reason to get together and celebrate the great Class of '69 and all the wonderful people who each contributed to it in their own way.  I wish for you peace and love and know that so many of us have very fond memories of our years together at SHS!

Love,

Casey

I have my airfare pd and I'm getting geared up to PAINT THE BUS.  I painted Dad and Mom's '49 Plymoth station wagon twice for the homecoming parade.  The trip has it's bitter sweet side.  I will be visiting my mom.  I've been told not to hold out old expectations.  After reading Linda's post I am keeping her close in my thoughts. I hope to see her in the not too distant furture.

When looking at life through the long view, there is a greater reason to celebrate than ever.  Young people celebrate so readily.  More seasoned people, like us, have had a chance to see something of life, know it's worth and forgive shortcomings.

I'm looking forward to next week.  Bringing some really funky paint cloths.  Checking this site for my Mission Impossible coded instructions.  On the up side, instructions and maps are no longer notes on paper that one would have to eat.

Marcus' receptionist is a college girl.  She just entered the office to say the sirens we were hearing is a shooting at Seattle Pacific University.  4 shooting victims.  She knew about it because her social media friends are trying to locate their family and friends at that school to be sure they haven't been shot.  They think they have a suspect. SPU is a private Christian school in the Fremont area of Seattle.  My kid's at college, but 90 mi away. The shooting problem at school, church, park or mall is not going away by itself.  What is it for?  Why do we have to endure this, the lose, the fear?  Sirens continue.
