I am sorry to hear of Rick's passing.  Shauna I am sorry for your loss also.  A celebration in honor of Rick's life sounds like a good reason for us all to get together.  If anyone has any other things planned for us to get together as a Class I would love to see everyone again, since the Reunion and those of you I didn't get to see for the Reunion.

Dennis is right we all need to get together more and we need to tell people how we feel about them every chance we get.  We never know when will be our last chance.  I enjoy the times I do spend with each of you.  I feel 18 again after that learning to paint the bus and the nice evening at the Country Club.

Please let me know if we are going to try to get together the weekend of Rick's Celebration.  I am trying to figure out a way to make a couple of trips to Disneyland this Summer.  Possibly I could hide in one of the Nance's trunks.  Or maybe hitch a ride with Eric.  I have been going to Disneyland for as long as I literally can remember starting with Opening Day.  My little Great Granddaughter Indigo is the sixth generation of my family to be a Disney fan.  She went last Summer when she was 8 months old.  Of course she loved it! °o°

Marlene -

The celebration for Rick will be on Sunday, May 31st at the Rotary Park (just as you turn up left-hand fork in Hobble Creek Canyon) at 2:00 PM.

Of course we are all saddened by the passing of friends and our hearts go out to those who are left to mourn, but let's act on Denny's advice and get together at some point on Saturday, the 30th, even if it's just to pic-nic in one of the city parks. Sometimes when we get together in restaurants we only get to have conversations with the people we a seated closest to. Maybe we could go somewhere we could build a fire and have hot dogs and get all smoky. Anybody have a good idea?

And, Happy Birthday to Paul Roylance!  He joins the 64 club today.

Kate Robertson (Schoening)

Hello to all my forever friends

It's been a while since I've been on the website......it's been a tough year, so far, for me.  I got on tonight hoping for some much needed connection with familiar friends and faces.  I see many loses, and my heart and soul goes out to those that have lost.  However the warm feeling that I got while reading all the posts reminds me of why we all stick together.  However long it's been since we talked or since I saw your faces, it's still home - thank you all for that!!

So enough heavy stuff - I see that there has been a suggestion to get together on the 30th prior to the celebration of life for Rick - I know that somewhere close to home is ideal, but I would love to have everyone at my place outside by the fireplace (we could even roast hot dogs and marshmellows)...I know it's a bit of a journey to Herriman and I totally understand that staying close to Springville, may be better, but I'm just throwing it out there if that could be considered an option.  This house needs some laughter and good times!  If it doesn't happen on the 30th, at least plan on sometime this summer for sure!!

Is anyone coming up on the 27th to see Robert Plant at the Depot?

I'm in where ever we decide to have it!!! We could even just go up the canyon to Whiting's and have a fire in one of the pits up there! But I love to go to Kate's! This could give us two Parties! One this month and another next month, and so on and so on! Yep I love parties!!!' Anybody have any other idea's?

That place was the "Black Forest" back in the day. I'll bet most of the younger generation in Springville these days would have no idea that that little grove of trees has such an interesting past, and that it was such a happening place 45 years ago. I kind of blows my mind that it has been that long ago.

Kate's place or Whitings or where ever works for me. I will have to consult Google Maps to find my way where ever it is, since I get lost in Springville these days - it has changed so much since I lived there.

Casey, For their 60th anniversary Disneyland is having an all night party this Friday night.Your annual passport is valid for admission. Most special events require a seperate ticket. So Its a good deal. So call and have Charles fuel the Jet. See ya there!

Happy Birthdays today to Dusty Collings and Gary Averett! The newest 64 Clubbers!

Now as for the rest of you party people who want to get together on the 30th, I'm going to make a suggestion:

Springville City has developed some new parks the past couple of years and there is one at the top of Jap's Hill called "Clyde Park" It overlooks the valley at the mouth of the canyon and due south of the high school. there are picnic tables and I'll bring my Coleman camp stove (it has a grill on one side) so we can cook up some hot dogs.  I'll bring some dogs and buns and ketchup and mustard. Bring whatever beverages, chips and other junk you want and a lawn chair would probably be good, too. Let's say 12:00 noon to start. What do you all say?

Thanks Daryl, for the Birthday wishes.  If I had my own private Air Ship I'd see you all for the Picnic, alas, not this time.  But I'll have fun thinking about you all having hot dogs together on Monday.  Daryl, how do you guys change your profile pictures?

Hey what is the process of sharing photos in my files??  anybody? ... Found it !!

There's a chance that Nora my 20 yr old daughter will transfer to U of U department of dance.  The fact is the school has a great reputation for a wonderful dance education.

She's been trading modeling for photos.  This one was selected for the poster by the photographer when she had a show of her work. Nora hadn't totally realized she was an athlete when this was taken.  She said, "Mom, I'm ripped." Yes, you have the muscles, sweetie.  Below is a college dance performance from last month. So if she's in Utah I have to spend more time in Utah!!    Happy Memorial Day

Wow, what a talented girl, Dusty! You can be justifiably proud. I look forward to seeing her perform at sometime in the future. Keep us posted on when we might have that chance.

Hope you are all enjoying an excellent Memorial Day weekend!

Okay, EVERYONE!  Let's hear you're coming to the Hot Dog Hootenanny on Saturday at Noon! Eric Bird has generously invited us to his private backyard park. It'll be great weather and even better conversation! Come on 69ers, we need to celebrate  and congregate! It will be helpful to know how many can make it, so please respond. Eric will fire up his grill, so if you want something other than a hot dog, bring it along! (We make some exceptions for road kill that has aged a little beyond it's prime.) If you want to bring something to share, we wouldn't refuse it. Bring a beverage of your choice, or Eric will turn on the hose for a refreshing blast of Mapleton well water. THIS IS GOING TO BE THE KICK-OFF FOR SUMMER! Come on, it's about time! Eric's house is at 1266 N. 700 W. in Mapleton.
