Didn't anyone get the memo on what colors to wear?

Didn't anyone else get the memo on the dress code..? :)

I absolutley love the pictures.  You all are something else.  Just having a speed bumb in the road I am trying to get over.  To see all of your happy faces is helping me get over it.  Thanks for the pictures and the spirit.

Hope you get over that speed bump in a hurry, Dee Ann!

What A Great Reunion!!!

Thanks to Dave Lynn and everyone else for making it such a fantastic event!

I thought I'd add this "before" picture of the bus. It turned out so cool!

Linda, your artwork was the inspiration for the whole project. We signed your name on the bus and felt your spirit riding along!

Just some random thoughts on our reunion:

1- Eric holding the pitch fork begs the question of how this person ever managed to get elected to ANYTHING!!

2- Shauna at the back of the bus-- it is nice to see that all that counseling and anger management has finallly made it possible for her to put all those ill feelings about SF behind her...

3- After seeing all who attended, and closely examining the pictures, I can conclude that the only ones who still look the same as in high school are Pam Allen and me.....

Thanks to Dave and all who helped make it a great time.

Speaking of dress code, Shauna.  I thought somebody had suggested wearing paint cloths on the bus in the parade.  Ha, glad I disregarded that.  But I am going to memorialize my paint shoes.  Pictures to follow.  I'm playing the music, YEAH!  What a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone.  To make a project this huge go, it takes a village.... Sringville-age. (Oh well it was worth a try.)  Honestly, it was so surprising to have a perfectly fun time playing just like we did when we were kids.  Thank you, thank you.

It was a great class reunion - the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have more of our classmates there.

Dave - thanks for coming up with the bus idea, what a great way to get our classmates reacquainted - you have set the bar pretty high for the next reunion.

Coke and I will be seeing Linda in the next few days and I will definitely let her know that we all appreciated her artistic contribution to the "Class of '69"  bus. But first and foremost, I will let her know that she has our entire class' support and prayers to help her through these difficult days and that we really missed having her and Debbie at the reunion activities.

It's so great to see all the responses on here! Stay connected everyone. It's a lot easier here than on Facebook.

Mart, if you want to send a CD with your photos to me at 146 North 210 East, Mapleton, UT 84664, I'd be glad to keep them along with the mailing list and other stuff we collected from this year's reunion. We'll try to keep it all together as part of a class history.

Hi everyone! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm tired from laughing and having so much fun. I didn't do to much on father's day but lay around. Hope all you Dad's had a good one. I have heard from all kinds of different people that Our Bus was the best thing about the parade. I have to agree!! Thanks to all the hard work and fun that went into it. Dave and guys you really we're amazing at pulling it all together. I'm like the rest, if more of you would have came, it would have been even better!!  After watching me on TV, I think I'll stay with painting SCRA on buses!!!! Thank-you everyone for making it another fun year!!!! Love my class with all the Class!!!!!!!!!!

Shauna, you were great! For those of you who missed it, here's the link to the episode of Story Trek Shauna starred in:

Paste it into your browser and watch it. Shauna's part comes at the end, so be patient! You can also just go to byutv.org and watch the Cowboy Heaven episode there.

I hope this works.  I've never posted.  I ran into the message forum while attempting to send my condolences to Linda Schardine.  I sent my thoughts to Linda through the message center.  I decided to re- visit the forum and became transfixed with the content.  While boucing around through the years, I saw my name.  In March, 2011, Jill Tuttle mentioned that I had lost my dear wife (Nuni) to cancer.  Several of you sent along your condolences.  It touched my heart.  Thank you.  I've tried not to become to fatalistic as I've dealt the profound loss.  Humor helps.  While scanning the forum, my 4th grade class picture also appeared.  My mother was hoping for the David Lynn smile.  She got the goofy looking kid with his mouth hanging open sitting next to David instead.  One of my better pictures.  I enjoyed the reunion dinner.  I plan on visiting the forum on a more regular basis.  I need to stay in touch with my Springville roots.  Take care everyone.

Kenny and I were talking tonight about how much we enjoyed all of you this past weekend. We also talked about the fact that there were so many classmates who didn't share the weekend, and how much they missed.

I went back and read all of the posts as far as they go. I had missed about 4 years worth. I laughed and cried, and I plan to keep up from now on.

clint Bailey, our deepest condolences for the loss of your wife. We understand that Tobe also passed. We have happy memories of him and his labs.

p.s. we hope it's not 5 years until we see you all again.

Hello All,

It was truely a fun time Friday and Saturday at our reunion.  Thanks to those that came and made it fun.  It is always sooooo disappointing when the ones that lives so close to Springville don't bother to come.  I would Love to see every classmate that is still able to walk show up to our reunions.  I would love to see Warren Christensen and tell him how sorry I am for being such a little "SHIT" to him.  Hopefully they will feel the urge to attend the next big one " The big 50 ".  I don't know about everyone else but mentally I am still 29.  Physically I am a bit older than that.

David mentioned about "made in the USA."  I complemented him on the bottles and candy because it was made in the USA.  If anyone has Netflix's watch a documentary called "Death by China."  It is pretty eyeopening what is happening to our country.  Every American should take a look at this movie.

Love to you all.....

Dave Lynn, Richard Hjorth, Jay Boyer and I got together for a quick nine holes of Golf at Spanish Oaks early on Saturday morning. It was great fun (nobody kept score.)

Just by way of information, Spanish Oaks has a weekday morning special going on for 9 holes (with a cart!) for $10 if you tee off before 9 am. Cheapest golf deal I've heard of in a long time. Your round, that time of the morning, will usually start off a bit breezy with the Spanish Fork Canyon winds, but generally calms down for the second half of the round. The course is in pretty good shape and fun to play.

Patty and Kenny,

Thanky you for the kind words about my wife and dad.  I guess my dad and his labs were kind of a fixture around Springville.  My dad would often tell me about talking with people from my generation.  When visiting, I would sit in a lawn chair with him on his front lawn (front lawn? don't see many front lawn sitters in my neighborhood in SLC).  People flying by on 4th East were constantly waving and honking.  I would joke that it was so nice to see how happy everyone was to see me back in Springville.  My dad seemed to have a lot of people around town that enjoyed talking with him.  That's a good legacy.

It's been nice to see new blood on the forum, it was getting pretty boring reading just Daryl and my posts. It was like you all were reading our diary.

You are a brave man Clint as well as others that have lost loved ones. I'm sure more of us are going to have to face those challenges as well as other trials.  We can gain strength from you as you've shared your experiences and pains.

We are getting better at feeling for each other, these new memories are better than our old ones since we can't remember as much. I hear some horrible news, but everthing else seems to go on around us like nothing had changed, but we know it has.

Is that Mike Neilson on the other side of you Clint? He has a good smile too. Forth grade. I like the smile on Lynn Bird (I think) and the Roy Gill happy face. Third grade.

Good photos Mart and Shauna.

Fun golf, no scores unless you count laughs.

I had some business to take care of down at Springville Recreation this morning and Shirley Green, the secretary, said, "I've got something for you." She read me the following email and then forwarded it to me..

From: Russell Thompson
Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2014 11:24 AM
To: artcitydays
Subject: I loved one of the parade entries!

Hello, I'm Russ Thompson, I've lived off and on in Springville for 7 years.  I saw the parade entry of the Summer of 69 hippie bus, modified from a school bus.  I really loved the spirit and art and music of the entry, and I'd like to meet the guy that made it.

Thank you!

Russ Thompson

So, I guess we should have a reception for Mr. Thompson with Dave and everyone who helped paint and otherwise make our bus what it was.

This was the only email Shirley got regarding the parade, so I figure we won THE BEST PARADE ENTRY EVER AWARD!!!

Wow! David!! That 3rd grade photo!!!! Love it!  It obviously was Cub Scout den meeting after school that day wink

I guess I may have confused some by comments of Clints fourth grade photo so I'd better post it too, again. Our mothers must have loved having a day they didn't have to choose clothes, and picture day must have always been on cub day. Good catch Utawna. Wow, Ron even made Eugene look small, and Mr. Collings. I'd like to meet Mr. Thompson myself, maybe he'd like to buy a bus. I did have someone ask me for a Dave Lynn original and I told them the bus was my best work, thanks to all of you.

David, I'm embarrassed that I'm not sure who is sitting on the other side of me in the 4th grade picture.  It's definitely Lynn Bird in 3rd grade.  I had to laugh at the dichotomy between Lynn's smile and my grumpy face.  I'm trending badly.  Not sure if I can take another grade.  I've actually had a blast with these pictures.  I showed them to staff members here at the U.  My secretary told me that I have the same 3rd grade look on my face when I return from meetings.
