Feb. 24, 1951 ~ June 28, 2009

Brent passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on the morning of June 28, 2009 due to unexpected heart failure. He was born February 24, 1951 in Provo, Utah. He was the son of Woodrow and Lydia Winters, and was the brother of Renee (Heilesen) Jimmy and Steven. Brent graduated from Springville High School, and went on to receive his Bachelor degree from Utah Valley University. He married Shirley Taylor on June 25, 1988-later divorced.

Brent was a man of kindness, compassion, and he had a place in his heart for everyone. He enjoyed the outdoors a lot, loved landscaping the yard, and was always willing to try something new. If you knew him, then you know he could put a smile on anyone's face, his motto was "always dress for success"!

He was the father of three boys-Steven, Justin, and Zachary whom he loved unconditionally. He always supported their decisions, and wanted to be a part of anything they did. We will miss his funny jokes, his dimples and smile that went on for miles, his contagious laugh, and most of all his great personality! He was a great Dad, Brother, and Friend. We'll miss you dearly!

Brent and I attended all of our school years together. He was my dance partner in a square dancing club when I was in elementary school at Lincoln. I remember once while we were dancing for recess in 3rd Grade. Brent was my partner. The teacher had taken some candy away from one of our classmates. She then accidently dropped it on the floor when she put her hand in her pocket. Brent took off running to grab the candy. In his mad dash, he knocked the teacher on her fanny. We all laughed so hard that the teacher kept all of us after school for 30 minutes!

I am shocked and really saddened! I was so excited to see him at the reunion. Guess our lives are shorter than we even begin to realize!

I have thought of you Brent many times over the years. You were one of those rare things: a truly truly nice guy. There was always a special place in my heart for you, ever since Jr High and High School. I had the deepest crush on you in Freshman year. I'm sure you knew... I wasn't very subtle : ) I remember our lockers were almost next to each other in the Freshman pit. You lit the place up with your your shining smile, your shining personality, your shining beta, your shining penny loafers! You always looked freshly minted in your sharply creased Corbin slacks and always crisp Gant shirt. (I liked the yellow one best) You did shine. Rest in Peace Brent.
