Steven Aaron Barker, Age 72, of Orem Utah, passed away Monday August 28, 2023. He was born on May 28, 1951 in Payson, Utah to Glen Vernon Barker and Lois Gladys Bates. He married Shirleen Aston on December 7, 1973 in the Provo, Utah Temple. Steve was raised in Hobble Creek Canyon. He attended Springville High School. He ran track and broke the high school 1 mile run time record at 3.53 minutes. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas South Mission. He graduated from the Utah Technical College in Provo with his certificate in June 1977 which led him to a career in surveying. He later worked for Deseret Meat for 30 years and then retired.

Steve loved fishing, camping, Lake Powell, hunting, vacations, spending time with his family, Hobble Creek Canyon, boating, doing acts of service, listening to oldies music, and making others laugh. He was a very adventurous person. His many adventures included scuba diving, spear fishing, gold panning, gold dredging, and a dedicated veil worker in The Temple. In later years, he took up making cakes and made many beautiful wedding cakes.

Steve and Shirleen made their home in Orem, Utah for the last 42 years, where they were blessed with four daughters.

Steve is survived by his wife, Shirleen, his daughters, Angela (Russ Jeffers), Wendy (Jacob Lee), and Shirlanne. His Brothers Dennis (Jan), Jim (Sandy), and Sister Evelyn (Morris) and 12 grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his daughter Irene (Robert Franklin), Brother Sam, and Sister Pat.

The viewing will be at 12:00-12:45pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 590 North 900 West Orem, Utah 84057. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Orem City Cemetery.
