Obituary

Pamela Grace (Allan) Cherrington, age 70 of Mapleton, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, after a long and valiant battle with ALS.  Pam was born in Springville, Utah, October 3, 1951, to Reese and Phyllis Allan.  She attended schools in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1969.  She married the love of her life, Kim Cherrington in 1970 and together they raised two sons Brett and Riley while residing in Springville.  They later moved to Mapleton.

Pam's life was filled with love, family and lots of friends and adventures.  She worked for many years in the corporate arena, having positions in many well-known companies.  During these years she was an avid runner and trained and completed two marathons.  After leaving the corporate world, she found her passion in the world of flowers.  She completed her Master Gardener Degree and received her certificate for Floral Design from Wright's Floral Company.  She co-owned and operated Flowers and Things, a wholesale floral business.  She worked many years for Diamonds Greenhouse, potting plants.  She loved making all things beautiful.  Her yard, gardens and greenhouse showed her expertise and perfection in all she did.  Many friends and family members were the recipients of her beautiful flower arrangements and the bounties of her amazing vegetable gardens.

Pam and Kim had wonderful and magical times at Lake Powell, their favorite place for over 40 years.  They had many great friends they shared these times with.  It was Pam's place of refuge and where she loved being the most.  Many great memories were created for family and friends on the waters of Lake Powell.   In later years they traveled in their beautiful motor home and enjoyed the beauties of the many places they visited.  Pam will forever be remembered for her style, her beautiful curly dark hair, her love for family and friends, her devotion to all her many "furry kids" and her beautiful flowers.  She truly made all things beautiful.

Pam is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Kim, whose love was proven daily by his unselfish acts of service to her.  She is also survived by two adoring sons: Brett (Lacey) Cherrington of Mapleton and Riley (Courtney) Cherrington of Mapleton; six beautiful grandchildren who she cherished: Taylor, McKenna, Brinley, Jaida, Gavin, and Brooklyn; two sisters: Vicky (Steve) Curtis of Springville and Melissa (Bryan) Gail of Bedford, Wyoming; and her two constant furry companions, Slater and Buddy; and her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Reese and Phyllis Allan; brother, Gregory R. Allen; sister, Stacy Bowler; nephew, Kit Allan; and brother-in-law, Dean Cram. Graveside services will be under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East in Springville.  All friends and family are invited.

The family wishes to express their many thanks and gratitude to IHC Palliative Care staff and to the IHC Hospice Care staff, and especially to her daughter-in-law Courtney for her nursing expertise and advice that was comforting to all of Pam's family members.
